What to expect at your session

Providing a truly unique, memorable experience for my clients is my ultimate goal, and I strive to create this through fun and relaxed sessions. I will do whatever it takes to get the perfect shot, whether that means laying on the ground, wading through water, or rock climbing for just the right angle. Shooting with me can be silly, and definitely fun! I shoot on-location, using natural light and incorporating nature into my portraiture to bring together people and nature in a meaningful way. By scouting out beautiful locations for my clients, I work to ensure that your photos will reflect your unique personality and style.

I often bring my assistant (my daughter Avery!) with me to shoots. She provides invaluable assistance in various ways, whether it's assisting with posing and lighting, keeping little one's attention with toys or bubbles, or helping me pack my gear. Avery is currently learning the photography trade as an apprentice and she has already assisted me as a second shooter for a few weddings.

My very favorite time to shoot is late afternoon/early evening, taking advantage of the beautiful time known as golden hour. This time of day provides a soft, beautiful ambient light and lends a lovely warm glow to portraits. Along with posed photos, I love capturing the natural, candid moments between loved ones. These are always a nice addition to a photo gallery, and sometimes the client's most loved photos from a session.
